POINT LOBOS: CALIFORNIA CROWN JEWEL
Not too far from Carmel-by-the-sea sits....Punta de los Lobos Marinos, Point of the Sea Wolves, where the sound of the sea lions carries inland, the Reserve has often been called "the crown jewel of the State Park System." Point Lobos is a "must" when visiting the Carmel area. A small fee will gain you entrance into the park. The ranger will gladly hand out information and maps for your stay in this gorgeous part of the coast. The sea lions are great fun to watch as are the many different kinds of birds and marine life.
This is also a great spot for a picnic or a bike ride. You won't want to miss some great photo ops in this area, so make sure you bring your camera to this beautiful State Reserve. It is also a favorite spot for artists to paint the breathtaking scenery in this area.
